Terms of Use — JIMS · Jamaica Incident Management System

1Acceptance

By accessing or using the JIMS web platform you agree to these Terms of Use and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2Information service only

JIMS provides traffic, incident, weather and emergency information for general guidance. It is not a navigation authority, an emergency dispatch service, or a substitute for official advisories from the police, ODPEM, the Meteorological Service or the National Works Agency.

Drive safely. Never operate the map or enter destinations while driving. Always obey road signs, signals, traffic laws and the directions of the authorities — regardless of what JIMS shows.

3Accuracy & availability

Traffic data is crowd-sourced and conditions change constantly. Information may be incomplete, delayed or inaccurate, and roads with no recent data are shown as having no live information. Travel times and routes are estimates only. JIMS is provided "as is" and we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

4Acceptable use

When using JIMS you agree not to:

submit false, misleading or malicious incident reports;
upload content you do not have the right to share, or that is unlawful or offensive;
attempt to disrupt, overload, scrape or gain unauthorised access to the service;
misuse the platform in any way that endangers others or breaks the law.

Reports are moderated and we may remove content or restrict access for misuse.

5User-submitted content

If you submit a report or photo, you confirm you have the right to share it and you grant JIMS permission to display and distribute it as part of the public map. Do not include sensitive personal information in reports.

6Staff accounts

Administrator and moderator accounts are for authorised personnel only. Account holders are responsible for keeping their credentials secure and for activity under their account.

7Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Virtual Enterprise and its partners are not liable for any loss, injury or damage arising from use of, or reliance on, the JIMS web platform or its information. You use JIMS at your own discretion and risk.

8Third-party services

JIMS displays map, routing and weather data from third-party providers. Those services are governed by their own terms, and JIMS is not responsible for their content or availability.
